Environmental and Water Planner

Welcome to the Parks and Streets Department at the Community Development Administration. We take care of Danderyd's public living room, where we work daily to ensure that residents have accessible and traffic-safe roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and that public spaces are safe, clean, and well-maintained. We maintain and develop our green environments that serve as shared activity rooms for recreation and movement, where we take care of the municipality's natural areas, parks, and lakes.

The Community Development Administration is located in Mörby Center, 14 minutes from T-Centralen. Here, we are about 70 employees who ensure that everyday life runs smoothly for everyone living, residing, and working in Danderyd Municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an environmental and water planner, you will be part of the Parks and Streets Department, which consists of 12 employees. You will act as an expert and coordinate water issues regarding, for example, stormwater ponds and water sampling in lakes, as well as liaising with other stakeholders. You will provide support in stormwater issues from the detailed planning stage to implementation, conduct stormwater investigations, and respond to oversight in water matters. You will drive and implement the municipality's water plan, stormwater plan, guidelines for stormwater, and water service plan. In the role of environmental and water planner, you will collaborate with colleagues on flood projects and investigations regarding climate adaptation. Furthermore, you will coordinate the municipality's stormwater group and have ongoing collaborations with colleagues in various departments regarding planning, development, and environmental issues. You will participate as the municipality's representative in various collaborative projects, which may involve local action programs for lakes, SKVVF, and the County Administrative Board. You will also collaborate with colleagues on the development of municipality-wide policy documents concerning the environment, climate, and sustainability. In the role of environmental and water planner, you will write responses to consultations on program and detailed plans within the environmental field and handle inquiries from residents based on your area of responsibility. Additionally, you will act as a project manager for specific projects that you plan and drive towards set goals. Within the scope of the assignment, you will also act as a requirements setter during procurements in the area.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Education in environmental science or another relevant education that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience working with issues related to lakes and stormwater
• Experience in public procurement
• Experience and familiarity with driving and implementing projects
• Knowledge of PBL, the Environmental Code, and the Water Services Act
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience from municipal or state operations and/or as a consultant in the field
• Knowledge of Scalgo and GIS
• Knowledge of stormwater design

As a person, you have the ability to quickly find solutions to emerging problems, and in your working method, you dare to think outside the box to see opportunities in the challenges you face. You are comfortable taking significant personal responsibility and easily collaborate with others both internally and externally, where you create good and trusting relationships. You take the initiative to make contact and maintain your relationships professionally. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
